Interview with Go-Neko

After an exhaustive search the web and different paths traveled by the under Buenos Aires, gave the band some questions for them. Pier Dei brings the chronicle of a strange interview.

A kind of interview

When I received the invitation to go see a Go-Neko, I thought "Back There Thunder" was simply a band that would play Neuquen as a guest. But the bet was redoubled when, minutes before a torrential rain loomed over the city. Within seconds the streets were small streams of water. So I ran to the votes and I sailed to the recital.
Despite the cold and storm, the large family of die-hard fans of Go-Neko no let up. Gradually, people began to appear, while Tonic Water and back is Thunder made their respective presentations.
Just after midnight Go-Neko took the stage to display their repertoire of songs from "A Kind of Mutant" (their debut). After a show - about - an hour, I met "Tom" (drums) and "Manu" (guitar) for an interview: It was necessary to get under a doorway that isolate us from the storm. I had planned to ask some questions that haunted me since the first time I saw them with The Police killed a Motor. I found it striking to see a band that created scenes of instrumental music - Krautrock style or Space Rock - in this land.
But then were outside labels. "We have a lot influences from many styles and each has different influences that converge to fart" - is expected Manu - "could be cagándonos to pineapples all trials but we hit it off and we're happy."

Was there a parameter when you start?

"The idea is always something new" - says Tom - "Not that you will play reggae or rock common you have some idea of more or less bands that inspire you to do this."
Manu: But there are several and distinct from each other.

- Despite not having a singer, the themes are embodied in different voices How did that come about?

T: It looks good! It is like another instrument. He gives another wave to topic
M: It's like that thing of film music, transport you, that earns you something. As a guitar you can create a thing, a voice will generate another German, in English and Castilian other, quite another.

- Does this open the doors to other countries?

T: Yes, there are plenty of blogs, and stuff, we went from countries that do not even know as they are called (laughs). Note that all bands say that if you sing in Castilian do not hear anywhere else and it's true. But it was an idea, 'let's do it to be heard out' - or fart.

Does anyone in particular, where messages are received or some kind of invitation?

M: A lot of foreign money (he jokes, laughing)
T: Actually, no. Passing the General Peace, no.
M: The country further we played was Cordoba (more laughter).

The conversation was becoming enjoyable and at times we were a merry chorus of jokes random babbling (excerpts from the interview that I preferred to obviate the statutory rate issues).
Every so often the thunder reminded me I had to keep asking, before the water we go up to the neck.
How do they spread their music without the backing of a company?

Tom: We drove all over the Internet. I think now that is not handled by the Internet to promote itself is kind of old.
Manu: It's like giving a slap to all the shit turd and the entire industry that exists
Tom: Yeah, well ... it helps (if you do it independently).

Do you think over the Internet can find any record company or the intention is to avoid them?

T: First of all is the method of work too. I choose to be so, because that's what I think is best. We reject all the shady deals of record. Like when shit bands that are just beginning and that sort of thing.
M: They get into the composition, sound, Fito Paez require you to collaborate on a record of yours.
T: Being on a stamp this Cerati or 'you're at a festival' with all those shitty bands. Those things we dislike, we prefer to do what we want.
M: And free.

How is their situation today, about that "pay to play"?

Tom: We - thankfully - no longer have to pay as when we first started, but not that that changed. There are 30 billion of bands that have to keep paying. We - fortunately - we agreed to that because we are part of something that is good and what is new. Nor do I think it's because ...

The tide caused by the storm lashed against both sides of the street, while his good friend and narrator was throwing questions. Chronologically, I can only inquire about the future of Go-Neko.
"We want the next year the second album out. We are going to record in December, and out for the summer or next year "- he confirmed Tom.
- Did you think recording in acoustic format - as they usually do some shows?

T: Maybe (reflective thinking). Nothing is ruled out, there is now an issue that is sung to the disk that came, and surely there will be more sung. Not that there's a sense of "because we do instrumental instrumental music fans."
M: Do not discard anything. We do what we are born.
T: If we sing is to sing well, if successful acoustic sound is ... if it goes well it will be a mess a mess (depending on the requirements of the song).

- Already there is a definite singer?

T: Just on this issue I sing, but worth it. There is nothing definite. We can even change the instruments.
"Go-Neko, anything goes!" - Manu tops.

In what is the project of Maria Luque "A Kind of Documentary"?

T: That was not our idea. She came and told us 'I want to make a documentary about Go-Neko'. We said yes and he did.

And when will be presented?

T: No we know we will do. Mary made a documentary on us but it runs on its own. Internet is sure to rise, do not really say.
M: It is there that want to do. If you Pass or file somewhere.

Could be included before a recital of the band ...

T: No! It gives us a documentary where we appear to pass us and be there.
M: If it were a documentary about penguins, yes, come on (laughs). But we no longer endure; above us in a video: unbearable (laughs). I would be ashamed.

I still had questions to ask, but the aqueous stream and we arrived at the waist and decided not to annoy more than necessary.
The rumblings of the storm sky emulated half bombed Kosovo. I ran back to the votes, hoping to keep the tape recorded unless this journalistic work on the open sea.
Fortunately, his noble and beloved reporter (ie, me), manages to return to my room with all the material intact, this memorable evening with the Go-Neko (a friendly sort of mutants).
